The short version: Lumen does not collect your personal data, does not track you, and does not sell anything about you to anyone. The app works entirely on your device.
Lumen is designed to work without collecting personal information. All your events, countdowns, and settings are stored locally on your device using iOS system storage. We do not have access to this data.
The only optional third-party service the app connects to is Unsplash, when you search for a photo cover for an event. This request goes directly from your device to Unsplash's servers. We do not proxy or log these requests. Unsplash's own privacy policy applies to those interactions.
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your Lumen data may be synced across your own devices via Apple's iCloud infrastructure. This sync is end-to-end encrypted by Apple. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
If you grant Lumen access to your iOS Calendar, the app reads event dates locally on your device to import them as countdowns. We do not upload, store, or transmit your calendar data anywhere.
Lumen can send local notifications (e.g. "one week until your trip"). These are scheduled entirely on-device using iOS's local notification system. No notification content is transmitted to our servers.
Lumen does not use any third-party analytics SDKs. If you opt in to sharing diagnostics with developers via iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with anonymised crash reports through App Store Connect. These reports contain no personally identifiable information.
In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We receive a transaction receipt from Apple confirming whether a purchase was made, but we do not receive your payment details, Apple ID, or any other personal information.
Lumen does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. The app has no account system, no server-side storage, and no analytics that could capture data from any user, regardless of age.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
